Position Summary

Under direction, functions as a lead worker in an eligibility unit, interacting with clients and staff in support of the agency mission statement. Involves complex eligibility determinations, quality control, HQS inspections, staff training, and operational support. Differs from specialist roles through broader independence and increased accountability.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
Two years of college coursework (48+ units) in business administration, management, real estate, or related fields. One year of eligibility work experience can substitute for one year of college education.
Experience
Minimum two years of progressively responsible eligibility work in public housing, inspection services, or property management. Two years as an Eligibility Specialist 2 or Housing Program Specialist 2 satisfies this requirement.
Licenses
Valid California Driver's License required; must be insurable by the housing authority's insurance provider.
Other Requirements
U.S. citizenship or lawful employment authorization. Satisfactory pre-employment physical examination. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
